Trigeminal nerve blocks are injections of localized numbing medication in various areas of your head and neck, used to calm the nerves contributing to your pain. We typically perform nerve blocks when your rescue medications haven’t sufficiently relieved the pain. The procedure typically takes 10-15 minutes and patients typically feel significant relief after the treatment. Call to schedule a same-day appointment.

Botox has been very effective in the prevention of chronic migraines in patients with over 15 migraines per month. It is given by injection into specific areas in your head and neck once every 12 weeks. Typically each treatment takes approximately 10 minutes and is usually tolerated well.

During IV therapy, we insert an intravenous catheter and administer IV fluids and medications. We recommend IV therapy for patients with acute migraines that haven’t responded to rescue medication, particularly when they have a hard time staying hydrated due to nausea and vomiting. IV medications may include NSAID pain medication, anti-nausea medication, steroids, and magnesium. Plan on spending at least 1-2 hours in our clinic to complete the infusion.
